200HR YTT REQUIRED BOOKS & READINGS:
(200hr) The Wisdom of Yoga by Stephen Cope -This is required pre-reading, you do not need to bring it with you although it is also a useful reference for the course content, but please read it before the program begins.
(200hr) Yoga Sutras - any translation is fine, we recommend the commentary by Chip Hartranft or Nischala Joy Devi. Please bring a copy with you to the course.
(200hr) Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff (second edition). You can either leave it at home after that or bring it with you for reference during the course.
Yoga Teacher Training Manual: The Kula Collective Manuals are included in the price of tuition and we will provide it to you electronically.
200HR HOMEWORK & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
We reserve the right to certify only students who pass the practicum for safe teaching, and demonstrate an ability to facilitate and communicate effectively with a group in a class setting. In the case that you do not receive the certificate directly, we offer a coaching program to help students achieve certification. More details on our Homework & Certification Requirements page.

We require you to complete these videos BEFORE arrival. Please write 3 takeaway comments under each video watched. This process will verify your completion of the videos. Please feel free to ask any clarifying questions under the videos as well.

IN PERSON ASSIGNMENTS:
We will assign various reading assignments from the manual throughout the course.
During the course, you will be guided through a Flow Design process. Upon completion, you will present a 30/60/90day plan.
PRACTICUM:
In Art of Teaching, trainees will be gradually introduced to teaching by moving through what we call “Asana Analysis” where we breakdown the poses and also string them together in a group of poses called mini sequences. Students will practice teaching these mini sequences. The first part will be learning to teach the Kula Basic Flow while the second part will be focused on building and creating Holistic Yoga Sequences.
We will have two individual teaching practicums of 90 minute classes:
The Kula Basic Flow will be taught to a peer.
Unique Creative Sequence you will develop and teach to a peer.
300HR YTT REQUIRED BOOKS:
(300hr) Anatomy of Spirit by Caroline Myss - medical intuitive. A helpful read for understanding mind body connection. You do not need to bring this with you to the course.
(300hr) The Upanishads - Please bring any translation with you to the course. The more translations/perspectives we have, the better!
(300hr) The Great Work of Your Life by Stephen Cope or any translation of the Bhagavad Gita. Please bring with you to the course.
(300hr) Oneness by Rasha. Recommended but not required (it is a big read!)
Kula Collective Course Books: The Kula Collective Yoga Teacher Training manuals are included in the price of tuition and you will receive them when you arrive onsite.

300hr Practicums
We will have three teaching practicums of 90 minute classes following the areas:
Focused on sequencing and theme weaving
2. Focused on Therapeutic Integration and understanding - stepping into your authenticity as a teacher incorporating the tools shared over the last month in a holistic and therapeutic way.
STAY HEALTHY:
We recommend you begin the process of preparing your body by eating fresh foods that are organic and alkaline-forming such as fruits and vegetables that are high in nutrients. You may also want to begin limiting your consumption of meat, alcohol and caffeine in the months leading up to the training. Drink water as often as possible and begin to listen to and notice any changes in your body’s responses to this purification process. The cleansing and fasting is not a required part of this training. If you are taking medication or have any personal or physical conditions that may be a contraindication to cleansing, please let us know on the health form.

FACILITIES:
Water: We will provide fresh and clean drinking water during our time together.
Meals: We will be providing three nutritious meals a day, with teas and snacks in between. Please remember that we do not offer caffeine during this course. This allows for cleansing of the body and mind to bring us into a clearer space. If you drink coffee or other caffeines on a daily basis, I recommend you begin to lower that consumption now. You are welcome to bring snacks for yourself, and we have cabinet space for those. We have less space in the fridge so please try and keep your snacks to non-perishable items.
Laundry: Laundry can be done at a small additional fee.
Internet: There is limited internet access at Seven Springs. We highly encourage you to disconnect to reconnect! Please be prepared to only check your email/networks on occasion.
ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Please plan to arrive at Seven Springs between 2-3pm on the first day of your training. We will begin at 3:30pm. Please text Jessi when you're on your way and have an ETA: 865-221-3841. You can email info@sevenspringsretreats.com to book an extra night(s) before or after the course. We will complete our course together after breakfast on the last day of the course. Please be sure you arrange your flight to fly out late afternoon on the last day so you don't have to leave us early!
TRAVEL INSTRUCTIONS:
Driving:
Enter into your GPS or Google Maps: 125 Sweet Hollow Way, Maryville, TN 37803
BE ALERT! Our address isn’t recognized by some systems, and others might send you to another location or to our inaccessible back entrance.
We recommend coming in via Montvale Road, State Route 336. From Maryville, travel 6.5 miles south on Montvale Road, turn left on Old Piney Road (there is a ProSign shop on your right). Travel 1.1 mile and take your second left onto Galyon Rd. Travel 4/10 of a mile and you will see a large blue mailbox with 120 Sweet Hollow Way sign on top (this is next to 1344 Galyon Rd address and mailbox). Turn left immediately after the blue mailbox onto our gravel driveway and follow the signs to Seven Springs parking. You may drive to your yurt or camping space to unload, and you will then return to park your vehicle in our parking area.

Flying:
The nearest airport is the Knoxville International Airport, TYS. The airport is located only about 25 minutes from Seven Springs. You may also look into flying into the Atlanta International Airport and taking the bus or renting a car to drive to Seven Springs. The Atlanta airport is about a four-hour drive. Nashville offers additional airlines and the airport is about a three-hour drive (and in central time zone).

Yoga mat (There are yoga mats for your use at Seven Springs. You may bring your own if you wish.)

Please also bring a journal and any creative tools that enable you to express yourself such as musical instruments, painting/drawing materials, etc..

The local currency is US Dollar (USD).
