200 hr YTT Required Books & Readings:

The Wisdom of Yoga by Stephen Cope - please read it before the program begins.

Yoga Sutras - Please have any translation with you during the course. The more translations/perspectives we have, the better!

Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff (second edition). There is a comprehensive anatomy section in the manual so this is optional but not required.

Kula Collective Course Books:

The PDF version of the Kula Collective Yoga Teacher Training manuals are included in the price of tuition and you will receive them within the Teachable Course. We recommend that you download them so you have them available offline.

Schedule & Course Flow:

1. This course mixes recorded lectures on Teachable that you can watch at your own pace with live Zoom classes and meet ups.

2. We will meet once a week for 4 months on Zoom to review and practice teach the content of that week.

3. You will be partnered with a Peer Teaching Partner. We ask that you and your partner meet for at least 2 hours each week via zoom to practice teaching the Art of Teaching sequences. This can be done using Zoom, Hangouts, What’s App video, or any other video chat. This should be done each week before Friday, so that you can bring your questions to that live session.

4. Each week you will be given a suggested schedule for how you can divide your recorded videos through the first week. This schedule will be posted in Teachable. Some classes are beneficial to watch in order, yet you are free to choose how you spend your time during the week.

5. Included in our weekly schedule is a daily 20-30 min meditation practice that we ask you to participate in each day.

6. Also included are two recorded asana classes each week. You are welcome to practice these classes as much as you like during the week! We require you to practice at least two times per week.

Activities, Quizzes, Homework and Practicums:

During the training you will be assigned readings and creative activities alone or in groups to help digest some of the material. We will be checking in through reflective questions and group sharings each week to make sure you are keeping up with the course flow and our learning goals are being met.

1. Each recorded lesson may include activities. Be sure to have your journal next to you during these sessions, and pause the videos when asked to journal about a topic.

2. Some sections will include reading assignments and other homework. Please be sure to keep up with the readings as our manual articles may go more in depth than the lectures. Some of the homework assignments will be used for the Live session.

3. You will be responsible for completing an online quiz through Teachable each week by Sunday. These questions will cover the lectures and reading from that week.

4. You will also have two live teaching practicums that are viewed by the facilitators. You will teach the Kula Basic Flow and a Flow of your choice to a partner live through Zoom. We will explain the details of this as we go!

5. You will present your Flow Design 30/60/90 plan by the end of the course.

300HR YTT REQUIRED BOOKS:

  • (300hr) Anatomy of Spirit by Caroline Myss - medical intuitive. A helpful read for understanding mind body connection.

  • (300hr) The Upanishads - Please bring any translation with you to the course. The more translations/perspectives we have, the better!

  • (300hr) The Great Work of Your Life by Stephen Cope or any translation of the Bhagavad Gita. Please bring with you to the course.

  • (300hr) Oneness by Rasha. Recommended but not required (it is a big read!)

  • Kula Collective Course Books: The Kula Collective Yoga Teacher Training manuals are included in the price of tuition and you will receive them when you arrive onsite.

300hr Practicums

We will have 6 practicums assigned over the course of the year, offering you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learned.

Practice:

If you don’t already have a regular practice, please take some time prior to the beginning of the training to start practicing yoga and meditation 3-5 times per week if possible. This will help your body and mind to integrate what you are learning into your daily life.

Stay Healthy:

We recommend you begin the process of preparing your body by eating fresh foods that are organic and alkaline-forming such as fruits and vegetables that are high in nutrients. You may also want to begin limiting your consumption of meat, dairy products, salt, sugar, alcohol and caffeine leading up to the training. This is by no means mandatory, but we invite you to consider leading a truly Sattvic lifestyle as you embark on this deepening of your yoga journey.

Your Facilitators

The Videos you will receive are taught by all 7 Kula Collective Co-Founders. See their bios on our website for more information. Your monthly live calls will give you the opportunity to connect with Randi, Jessi, Jiya, Zach, and Ananda!
